Parents of Students in the Irvington Area:

The safety of our students is a top priority in the Breckinridge County School District. Given the
location of the new Irvington Elementary School (IES), it is not advised for students to walk
across Highway 60 to IES for school or to catch a shuttle bus to the middle school or high
school. Students living in close proximity of the school who choose to walk will be provided a
school bus to take them across Highway 60 to the new school. This bus will pick walkers up
from the tennis courts behind the old IES each morning at approximately 7:00 A.M. school time.
If your child has walked to school in the past, please have them walk to the bus stop at the
tennis courts so that they can be safely transported across the street to school or to catch their
shuttle bus.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Breckinridge County Assistant
Superintendent and Transportation Director, Richard Butler at (270)-756-3000.
Thank you in advance for working alongside us to keep our students safe.
