What is the Family Resource Center mission statement?
To enhance students' ability to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote: Early learning and successful transition to school; Academic achievement and well-being; and Graduation and transition into adult life. Family Resource Centers were created as a part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990. The primary goal of the FRC is to enhance students’ abilities to succeed in school by helping the students and their families overcome non-educational barriers. This is accomplished by providing students with services at the center and linking students and families to community resources and agencies as needed.
Advisory Council
The Family Resource Center has an active Advisory Council that meets at least 5 times throughout the school year. Council members are made up of parents/guardians, school representatives, and community representatives. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings. Scheduled meetings are announced through the school’s social media and in the FRC newsletters. The purpose of the advisory council is to provide the center coordinator with input, guidance and recommendations with regards to the planning, development, implementation and coordination of the center services, programs and activities.
